Cory Doctorow

Cory Doctorow is the author of several science fiction novels. Some are for adults, others are for young people and adults. He’s also the author of a book of essays (Content, Tachyon Books), a graphic novel (Cory Doctorow’s Futuristic Tales of the Here and Now, IDW) and two collections of short stories, both currently in print from Thunder’s Mouth Press.

Stephen Volk

Stephen Volk is the creator/writer of ITV1’s multi award-winning paranormal drama series Afterlife starring Lesley Sharp and Andrew Lincoln, and the notorious, some say legendary, BBCTV “Halloween hoax” Ghostwatch, which spooked the nation, hit the headlines, and caused questions to be raised in Parliament.


Ian Whates

Ian Whates lives in a comfortable home down a quiet cul-de-sac in an idyllic Cambridgeshire village, which he shares with his partner Helen and their pets – Honey the golden cocker spaniel, Calvin the tailless black cat and Inky the goldfish (sadly, Binky died a few years ago).


Wayne Simmons

Belfast born, Wayne Simmons, has been loitering with intent around the horror genre for some years. Having scribbled reviews and interviews for various zines, Wayne released his debut horror novel, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS in 2008. The book was received well by both fans of the genre and reviewers alike. An extended version of DDG will be re-released through Snowbooks in 2011.


Jon Courtenay Grimwood

Jon Courtenay Grimwood was born in Malta and christened in the upturned bell of a ship. He grew up in the Far East, Britain and Scandinavia. Apart from novels he writes for magazines and newspapers. He travels extensively and undertakes a certain amount of consulting. Until recently he wrote a monthly review column for the Guardian.


Kim Lakin-Smith

Kim Lakin-Smith is a science fiction and dark fantasy author whose work focuses on urban dystopias, history and folklore, steam/gaspunk, and the notion of the outsider. Kim’s debut novel, Tourniquet, was published by Immanion Press in 2007.


Gareth L Powell

Gareth L Powell was born in Bristol, England. He is the author of the SF novels The Recollection (Solaris, 2011) and Silversands (Pendragon Press, 2010); and the critically acclaimed short fiction collection The Last Reef and Other Stories (Elastic Press, 2008).

Jennifer Williams

Jennifer Williams is a fantasy and horror writer from South East London. When not frowning over her notebook in coffee shops and pubs, she can usually be found shouting excitedly at the Xbox, or recording a podcast about shouting at Xboxes.


Simon Kurt Unsworth

Simon Kurt Unsworth lives on a hill in the north of England with his wife and child. He writes essentially grumpy fiction, for which pursuit he was nominated for a 2008 World Fantasy Award.


Andy Remic

Andy Remic was born in 1971 and lives in Manchester, although his heart and soul belong to the Scottish mountains. Married with two children, Andy has a variety of esoteric and sometimes contrasting loves, including sword fighting, climbing, mountain biking, kick-boxing, Ducati motorcycles and retro-gaming.
